Engagement Photoshoot { Simo & Megan, Fish Creek Park, Calgary Alberta }

Megan and Simo are an absolute match made in heaven. That’s a bold statement, but throughout their entire engagement session, their love for each other was just so evident. And, I mean, just look at the two of them! Picture perfect.

We were blessed beyond belief with the most beautiful light streaming through the fields at Fish Creek Park (not to mention that sunset at the end!), and I couldn’t stop shooting them. So, forgive me for the including SO MANY photos in their blog post, but I just couldn’t help myself – gorgeous couple so obviously in love, soft and beautiful warm autumn light – a photographer’s dream come true.

Congratulations on your engagement, Simo & Megan! I’m so happy for the two of you and lucky to call you guys friends.

Family Photoshoot {Pascale Family, Calgary AB }

“The best thing to hold onto in life is each other.”

I may have totally stolen that quote from Lauren’s Facebook from when she posted these photos for her friends and family to see, but it’s absolutely suiting for this adorable family session!

Lauren, her hubby Carmine, and their two beautiful little girls Sophia and Mya met me on a Sunday afternoon just as the weather was starting to get chilly, so we only had about 15 minutes to capture this beautiful family. However, with little girls with faces of angels like these two little sweeties, it’s pretty difficult to go wrong!

I thought it was adorable and meaningful that Lauren chose to shoot her family portraits in the same location where they had their wedding photos done!

The Pascales are such a sweet and perfect little family. I had a blast with you guys! Thank you for letting me shoot your family portraits 🙂

Personal / Motivational Photoshoot { Jill, Confederation Park & Baker Park, Calgary AB }

I was super happy when Jill messaged me to see if I’d be interested in shooting some motivational, personal portraits for her. I loved the idea from the very start!

She’s been on a personal journey to lose weight, become more active and eat well, but what really stirred up this awesome idea in her mind was the fact that in the coming weeks, she will be kicking up her journey into high-gear and starting to work with a personal trainer! We discussed shooting some portraits now to serve as the “before” visuals, then portraits in 6 months time, then again in a year to show all of the amazing progress I know she is going to make.

We decided to use some fun props for her shoot to help bring to life her goals, what she has achieved so far that she should be proud of, and how she will positively approach her journey moving forward. Didn’t she do the best job on her adorable motivational signs ?!

If you’d like to follow Jill’s journey and follow her progress, you can visit her blog, or follow her on Twitter.

The “Keep Going” message was something AWESOME that we randomly stumbled across while wandering down the river paths at Baker Park. Who wrote it or when, we have no idea, but it was absolutely and perfectly fitting for the photos we were there to create!

Couples Photoshoot { Lori & Joe, Fish Creek Park, Calgary Alberta }

Last Saturday, Lori and Joe met Justin and I at the Bannister Road entrance to Fish Creek Park. The weather was perfect, and we spent an hour and a bit shooting some photos as we strolled around the paths and enjoyed the gorgeous colors of the Calgary autumn season.

I can’t get over how lovely Lori’s pretty red hair looks against the fall foliage – isn’t she just so gorgeous?!

I hope you guys enjoy your photos! 🙂

Engagement Photoshoot { Crystal & Darcy, Nose Hill Park, Calgary Alberta }

The story of the location chosen for Crystal & Darcy’s engagement photos is pretty adorable!

I asked Crystal a couple of weeks in advance if there was a spot that was particularly special to the two of them that we could shoot at. She immediately thought of Penticton, BC – their favorite vacation spot, and also the place where Darcy proposed!

Unfortunately, this was a little bit out of the way! On the morning of the photoshoot, I headed out with my dog and scouted out a few different parks, eventually settling on Nose Hill Park, near the 14th Street entrance. As the three of us drove there just before sunset, Crystal blurted out, “Ohmygosh! I think the spot we’re going to is where Darcy took me for our very first date!”

Sure enough, it was! Crystal was new to the city at the time, and Darcy had taken her to the top of Nose Hill so that they could overlook the city skyline. Without even purposely planning for it it, we had ended up shooting their engagement photos at the exact location of their first date.

I hope you enjoy these photos of this gorgeous couple! Their beautiful baby Autumn (fitting name, right?) makes a brief appearance as well : )
