It’s time to catch up on blog posts around here! And I thought, what better a post to start with than Aly & Trent’s gorgeous maternity session last spring. Can’t believe their beautiful little girl Tenley is almost one years old already!
Our maternity session took place at Fish Creek Park and we had the most gorgeous end-of-day light.
Ohmygosh! I’ve been so busy lately, but it’s about time I got around to blogging these two!
Twyla is my absolute best friend in the entire world. Has been since we were just crazy teenagers growing up together in a small town! Needless to say, it was an absolute honor for me to shoot engagement photos for herself and her wonderful fiance Jamie.
These two live in Saskatoon, but Calgary is very near and dear to Twy’s heart. So are the mountains, so we decided to head out for a wander in the natural beauty of Canmore to capture their session.
These two are the definition of “IN LOVE” – each time I told them to snuggle, kiss, and hold each other, they did so more than enthusiastically! Their love for each other is so, so very obvious and I can’t believe their wedding is in just over a month.
Congratulations Jamie & Twyla – you are so close to me you are pretty much family and it will be an honor to stand next to you as you say “I Do!”
Dorothy and Jared are such a sweet couple, and I was stoked when they requested their engagement photo session to take place in Banff National Park! I absolutely love trips to the mountains, and it was such a perfect environment to capture these two lovebirds in.
Dorothy & Jared had a very specific photo in mind that they wanted to create for their Save the Dates for their wedding guests, and as soon as I heard that it involved sparkly red shoes and hockey (Jared’s fave), I was all over it! (Dorothy, who is from Kansas..and red heels! Get it? So super cute!)

Megan and Simo are an absolute match made in heaven. That’s a bold statement, but throughout their entire engagement session, their love for each other was just so evident. And, I mean, just look at the two of them! Picture perfect.
We were blessed beyond belief with the most beautiful light streaming through the fields at Fish Creek Park (not to mention that sunset at the end!), and I couldn’t stop shooting them. So, forgive me for the including SO MANY photos in their blog post, but I just couldn’t help myself – gorgeous couple so obviously in love, soft and beautiful warm autumn light – a photographer’s dream come true.
Congratulations on your engagement, Simo & Megan! I’m so happy for the two of you and lucky to call you guys friends.
Nancy and I met through the destination wedding planning process; both of us live in Alberta and both of us happen to be planning destination weddings in Punta Cana at venues just down the beach from one another – what are the odds?! Needless to say, the girl and I have a TON in common, and we quickly became instant friends.
Jerrod and Nancy are an absolutely adorable couple! Both of them are passionate about the outdoors, music (especially the Red Hot Chili Peppers!), and their two dogs, so we decided to incorporate all three of these things into their engagement session. The fact that the camera absolutely LOVES them doesn’t hurt 😉
It had just snowed in Edmonton the weekend prior but luckily, all was melted by the day we met to shoot their photos. We were blessed with a beautiful, soft pink-and-orange sunset that provided plenty of gorgeous color to their late autumn session!
Last Saturday, Lori and Joe met Justin and I at the Bannister Road entrance to Fish Creek Park. The weather was perfect, and we spent an hour and a bit shooting some photos as we strolled around the paths and enjoyed the gorgeous colors of the Calgary autumn season.
I can’t get over how lovely Lori’s pretty red hair looks against the fall foliage – isn’t she just so gorgeous?!

The story of the location chosen for Crystal & Darcy’s engagement photos is pretty adorable!
I asked Crystal a couple of weeks in advance if there was a spot that was particularly special to the two of them that we could shoot at. She immediately thought of Penticton, BC – their favorite vacation spot, and also the place where Darcy proposed!
Unfortunately, this was a little bit out of the way! On the morning of the photoshoot, I headed out with my dog and scouted out a few different parks, eventually settling on Nose Hill Park, near the 14th Street entrance. As the three of us drove there just before sunset, Crystal blurted out, “Ohmygosh! I think the spot we’re going to is where Darcy took me for our very first date!”
Sure enough, it was! Crystal was new to the city at the time, and Darcy had taken her to the top of Nose Hill so that they could overlook the city skyline. Without even purposely planning for it it, we had ended up shooting their engagement photos at the exact location of their first date.
